Council set up to mediate financial disputes

The Shanghai People's Mediation Council for Securities, Funds and Futures Disputes was established last month at Shanghai Futures Tower in Lujiazui, Pudong.

Government officials, judgers, representatives of financial institutions, and workers from the Shanghai Securities Association, Shanghai Funds Association and Shanghai Futures Association attended the opening ceremony.

The Shanghai Securities Regulatory Bureau Director Yan Bojin and Shanghai Higher Court Vice President Chen Yajuan signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate dispute settlement through mediation.

The officials also presented certificates to the first group of mediators employed by the council. The mediators are experts in securities, funds and futures industries.
