22 parties sign treaty to promote maritime laws in FTZ

Early this week, 22 maritime law firms, arbitration institutions, shipping industry associations, and universities with maritime studies signed a convention to promote maritime laws and regulations in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The event was organized by the FTZ commerce commission, which has organized forums, seminars and coordination meetings involving shipping industry executives, legal experts and academics.

According to the convention, the 22 signatories will provide legal services to maritime organizations and shipping companies, design industry standards and contract formats, and establish an early-warning system for shipping companies.
